Undercurrent--What They're Saying...

"Great guitars, great harmonies and awesome lyrics"--Johanna Bodde, Insurgent Country (The Netherlands)

"One of the better discs of 2007 that I've heard"--Stephen Ferra, Absolute Power Pop

"Undercurrent" is often gorgeously melodic - the ballad 'Love Is Real' borders on the majestic - and Robinson's clear, controlled tenor is the perfect conduit" --Eric Snider, Creative Loafing

"Elegantly crafted Beatlesque folk-rock of the highest calibre"--Rob Lincoln, CD Reviews Online

Co-produced by Ed Woltil and Brian Merrill of the Ditchflowers, Steve Robinson's new Sunshine Drenchy Release,"Undercurrent" (SUND004) is freely available (well, cheaply at least) at most download sites, including iTunes as well as at CD Baby and Not Lame Recordings .
There are also a limited number of copies available exclusively from the dandy online store Kool Kat Musik that come with a bonus 4-song EP featuring two live Headlights recordings ("Lucky 7" and "It Took A While"), along with the home demos of "Away For The Day", and a yet to be released song called "Worst Foot Forward".

Sunshine Drenchy forecast...

Things are very busy at the Sunshine Drenchy offices these days. I probably shouldn't use the plural form "offices" because it's a bit of an exaggeration. Come to think of it, the singular "office" would be a gross exaggeration too, but let's not spoil the party.
As well as frantically finishing up the recording, mixing and mastering of the new Steve Robinson CD, "Undercurrent", we've also been busy with the ongoing promotional campaign for the recently released "Carried Away", the debut album from The Ditchflowers
Yes, Ed Woltil(Mad For Electra/The Headlights) and Brian(Barely Pink/The Threads) Merrill's little gem has been charming people all over the bloody show, of late; picking up favourable reviews on the Swedish site Torpedo Pop, as well as on popmatters.com
In addition, in case you missed it, you can still listen to the lovely "Home Away From Home", which was recently featured on NPR's nationally-syndicated Open Mic programme. And if that whets your appetite, you can always listen for the lads on the XM radio show "In Spite Of All The Danger", hosted by Mike Marrone. Apparently, he will be serving up several Ditchflowers cuts over the next several weeks.
